Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
Last updated: November 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information SWO Community collects through the SWO Community app and website at app.swocommunity.com (the “App”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The App is operated by OK GOOD MEDIA LTD CO, PO Box 2504, Stillwater, OK 74076 (“SWO Community,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). If you have questions, see “Contact us” at the end.
By creating an account you agree to our Terms of Use, which include this Privacy Policy.
1. Words we use
- User: anyone who signs in to the App.
- Member: a User with an active Discount Club membership, whether paid or gifted.
- Discount Club: the paid membership that unlocks local deals and the member card.
- Merchant: a local business that offers a deal through the App.
- Staff: SWO Community admins and managers who run the App.
- Parent and Student: a parent or legal guardian, and their child aged 13 to 17 who uses a student card set up by the Parent. See section 2A.
2. Who the App is for
The App is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create your own account. The only exception is a student card, which a parent or legal guardian sets up for a student who is 13 to 17 (see section 2A). We do not allow anyone under 13 to use the App, and the App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe someone under 18 has an account without a parent’s student card, or that anyone under 13 is using the App, contact us and we will close the account and delete their information.
2A. Parents and student cards
A parent or legal guardian (“Parent”) who has an account can add a student card for their child who is 13 to 17 (“Student”). The Parent is the Member. The Parent accepts the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy for the Student, pays for the membership, and makes the Student’s privacy choices.
What we collect about a Student. The Student’s name, birth date, and the email address the Student uses to sign in, all provided by the Parent. We also record which deals the Student uses and when, the same as for any Member.
How Student information is used. We use it the same way as for any Member, as described in this policy, with these differences:
- The Parent makes the choices. The Parent decides whether the Student gets marketing email (including partner offers and birthday emails) and whether we record the Student’s approximate location when the Student uses a deal. The Parent can change these choices at any time, and each marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- All-ages deals only. Student cards, and any deals or offers we email to Students, include only deals the Merchant has marked as open to all ages.
Parent rights. A Parent can see the Student’s account information and deal use, ask us to correct it, and remove the student card at any time. Removing it closes the Student’s access, and we delete the Student’s information as described in section 8. When the Student turns 18, the student card ends. The Student may then create their own adult account and make their own choices.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your name, email address and password. Your password is stored by our sign-in provider in scrambled (hashed) form, and we cannot see it. We use your email to confirm your account and to send codes when you reset your password. If you turn on two-step verification, we also store the key that links your authenticator app to your account.
- Birth date. You give us your birth date when you sign up and confirm you are 18 or older (or, for a Student, the Parent gives it). You can set it only once. We use it to confirm your age, to unlock birthday deals, and (if you agreed to marketing email) to send birthday messages. See section 4.
- Your choices. Whether you accepted the Terms of Use and when, whether you want marketing email and when you said yes, and whether you turned on location at checkout.
- Invites. If you invite someone, we store the email address you entered, the level you invited them at, and that the invite came from you. We do not email the person you invite. You share the invite link yourself. Please invite only people who would want to hear from you about SWO Community.
- Merchant information. If you run a business, we collect your business name, contact name, email, phone number, and the details of the deals you offer.
- Messages to us. Anything you send us when you contact us.
Information we collect when you use the App
- Membership status. Whether you are a Member, your plan (monthly, yearly, or gifted), and when a gifted membership ends.
- Deal use. Which deal you used and when.
- Approximate location (only if you turn it on). When you use a deal, your phone shares its location with the App. We round it to about 100 meters (roughly a city block) before we save it. We never collect location if this setting is off, and your phone will also ask your permission.
- App activity. When you last viewed the deals list, and which birthday emails we have sent you, so we do not send the same one twice.
- Technical data. Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser and device type, and the time of each request. The App uses cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics tools.
Information from others
- Payment processor. Once paid memberships launch, payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe tells us whether your payment went through, your plan, and your subscription status. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s own privacy policy covers the payment details you give Stripe.
- Staff. If Staff gift you a membership or change your account level, we record that change.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create your account, sign you in, and keep your account secure.
- Confirm you are 18 or older.
- Run the Discount Club: show your member card, check that your card is valid, and unlock deals, including birthday deals during your birthday week.
- Process payments and manage your membership.
- Review and approve Merchant deals.
- Report to Merchants how often their deals are used (see section 5).
- Show Merchants and the community, in general terms, where the Discount Club is used, using rounded location from Members who turned it on.
- Send you service messages, such as account confirmation and password reset codes. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account.
- If you agreed to marketing email: send you SWO Community news and deals, offers from our local partners, a birthday week email listing birthday deals, and, if you are not yet a Member, a few reminders in the weeks before your birthday about birthday deals you could unlock by joining.
- Show a birthday week reminder inside the App when you open it.
- Prevent misuse, such as card sharing, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising on other sites.
5. Who we share information with
- Service providers who run the App for us and may use your information only to provide their services to us:
- Supabase (database, sign-in, and storage)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Resend (account and password reset codes and other email)
- Stripe (payments), once paid memberships launch
- Mailchimp (marketing email), if we start using it
- Merchants. Merchants see how many times each of their deals has been used. We do not give Merchants your name, email, birth date, or location. A birthday deal shows the cashier only “Birthday month verified,” not your birth date.
- Anyone you show your card to. Your member card has a QR code. Anyone who scans it, usually a cashier, sees your first name, whether your membership is valid, and the time they checked. Don’t share screenshots of your card.
- Partners. When we send partner offers, we send them ourselves. We do not give partners our email list.
- Staff. Admins and managers can see User accounts (name, email, account level, and membership status), invites, and deal use so they can run the App and support you.
- Legal reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Users, Merchants, SWO Community, or the public.
- Business transfer. If SWO Community is sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy for the information it receives.
- With your consent. In any other case, only if you ask us to or agree.
6. Links to other sites
The App links to the SWO Community Facebook group and shows YouTube videos. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube may still collect information when you play a video. Some posts and deals are affiliate links, labeled in the App, and the site you visit may track that you came from us. Facebook, YouTube, Stripe, and Merchant websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
7. Your choices
- Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or turn off “Email me SWO Community news, deals and offers from local partners” on your Account page. We stop marketing email promptly after you opt out. You will still get password reset codes and other service messages.
- Location. Turn off “Record my approximate location when I use a deal” on your Account page, or deny location access in your phone or browser settings.
- Your account information. You can update your name on your Account page. Your birth date can be set only once; contact us if it is wrong.
- Access and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. We will verify the request comes from you and respond within 45 days. We may keep some information when the law requires it or for the reasons in section 8. If we deny your request, we will tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to our answer or writing to the contact address below. We will answer your appeal within 60 days.
- Canceling your membership. Once paid memberships launch, you can cancel any time through the billing link on your Account page. Canceling ends your membership but does not delete your account.
8. How long we keep information
- Account information: while your account is open, and up to 90 days after you ask us to delete it (or a Parent removes a student card), unless we need to keep it longer to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or comply with the law.
- Deal use records: 24 months. After that we keep only totals that do not identify you.
- Approximate location: 24 months from the date of the deal use. After that we delete the location from the record. We may keep totals by area that do not identify anyone.
- Records of your consent and unsubscribe requests: as long as needed to show we honored your choices, even after your account is closed.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires. Stripe keeps its own records under its policy.
- Server logs: as set by our hosting providers.
9. How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards for an app of our size. Data moves over encrypted connections. Database access rules limit each person to the information they need: Users see their own data, Merchants see only counts for their own deals, and only Staff see account lists. Sign-in uses a password, stored in hashed form, with optional two-step verification through an authenticator app. Member cards use a secret code we can reset to turn off a card.
No system is perfectly secure. Keep your password private and your email account and phone secure, because anyone who can read your email can reset your password. Turning on two-step verification adds protection. If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and others as the law requires.
10. Where information is stored
We operate in Oklahoma. Our service providers store and process information in the United States.
11. Your state privacy rights
Some states, including Oklahoma beginning January 1, 2027, give residents specific privacy rights that apply to larger businesses. Whether or not a state law applies to us, we offer every User the choices and rights in section 7, including access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, and an appeal.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for important changes, tell Users in the App or by email before the change takes effect. If a change would let us use information you already gave us in a materially different way, we will ask for your consent first.
